Artwork
KSM Promotions aims to make the online ordering process as simple as possible. All you need to do is choose your products from our extensive range, and upload your artwork to us. Our graphic artists will do the rest. If they see any potential problems, they'll be in touch with you to discuss their recommendations and any necessary actions in adjusting your artwork.
What if I don't have an EPS file?
If you can't find an acceptable electronic file that meets our requirements, you might consider asking the person who originally created your logo for a vector file and have it emailed to us. Sometimes when the files are large, our clients prefer to send us a disk. Please remember to ask them to use the preferred requirements below for best results.
Remember, artwork should never get in the way of doing a promotion. If you can't find art that meets our electronic submittal requirements, we can always assist. All you need to do is ask! There's a one-time fee for any work we do, and once we recreate your art, you won't have this charge again and ordering in the future will be a very simple process.
What if I want a specific PMS color match?
Many of our decoration methods allow for the opportunity to closely match the imprint color to a specific requirement. Customers who require specific color matching should provide us with "PMS" color numbers where applicable. PMS stands for Pantone Matching SystemŽ. Be aware that all monitors are different (with various settings for contrast, brightness, etc) and the color you see on the screen will likely be different when viewed in person.
Where PMS matching is available, there is typically a nonimal charge per color for this service, as inks need to be carefully blended to achieve a close match to your color. The charges for PMS matching are listed on this website – just look in the "Details" tab on each product page. This charge is also applicable on reorders. If your logo is to be embroidered, we will select a thread which most closely matches your PMS color and you will have the opportunity to see this choice when you approve your "sew-out" proof.
What artwork format is acceptable?
Acceptable Files in either Mac or PC Formats Art files can be created in Adobe Illustrator CS or lower, Macromedia Freehand 9.0, or earlier versions of these programs. Other program files may be acceptable if they can be saved in EPS format. All files must be saved as EPS and all text converted to outline. EPS format files provide superior reproduction quality allowing images to be resized with no loss of sharpness or detail.
Artwork with Text We recommend that all text be converted to outlines when possible. If not, all fonts, font suitcases, printer fonts and screen fonts must be included with your art. Please note that the smallest text size that can be imprinted is typically around 6-8 pt, with some exceptions. For embroidery, letters should be non-serif and at least 3/16" to 1/4" in height. It is often necessary to modify or drop text entirely for small imprint areas.
Single Color Artwork We prefer Adobe Illustrator files; however we can use .jpg or .tiff files if their resolution is 600 dpi (dots per inch) or higher at the size of the imprint area. The logo should be in black on a white background. Web images are 72 dpi and are generally not acceptable. However, if your item is to be embroidered, we can usually use a web graphic as resolution is not so important.
Multiple Color Artwork Send only original, native vector, EPS files. We cannot accept art files from the following Mac or PC platforms: BMP, Photoshop EPS, JPG, GIF, PICT, or TIFF. Do not attempt to save these files in an acceptable format. We cannot guarantee that files will acceptable or usable if sent from PC platforms in formats such as BMP, GIF, PICT, or other. PC files such as DOC, EXE, PCX, PPT, P65, or XLS are not acceptable as these file formats are generally low resolution, only suitable for viewing on-screen and not for printing. These cannot be appropriately modified. However, if your item is to be embroidered then we can use a low quality graphic.
Where do I send my artwork file?
Please upload your artwork directly with your online order wherever possible. However, if your artwork is an extremely large file and either cannot upload successfully or is best sent by email or by post, then send your artwork directly to us using the order number supplied on checkout.
